Our corporate philosophy of ‘Trust is our tradition’ has been the cornerstone of the ‘KAPICO Way’ in the corporate governance sphere. On issues ranging from customer care and business excellence to financial propriety and more, the guidance provided by our board supplements the traditional values on which the KAPICO Group has been shaped. KAPICO is managed under the direction of the Board of Directors, whose purpose is to maximize long-term value for our stakeholders by responsibly addressing the concerns of our employees, business partners, the communities and governments where KAPICO has operations and does business, and the public at large. In fulfilling its duties, the Board oversees the corporate governance of KAPICO, oversees and advises management in developing our financial and business goals, and evaluates management's performance in pursuing and achieving those goals. |

KAPICO believes that our businesses should play a major role in supporting the communities in which they operate. Every business has a responsibility to contribute to the well-being of its people, their families and the society in which it operates – in short, put something back into the community. Some of our operations are located in developing countries with pressing economic and social needs. Over the years, our companies have thrown themselves enthusiastically into a wide variety of community projects - ranging from substantial contribution to major relief efforts to the sponsorship of a sports team. We are in the process of instituting a global program whose central theme will be the support for education. The decision to emphasize educational projects reflects two factors. One is the central role played by education within KAPICO itself. The sharing of knowledge and the encouragement of personal development are central to our business philosophy. But above all it reflects the importance of education in allowing people in more deprived communities to make the most of their potential – with consequent benefit for the wider community. KAPICO is committed to playing its part in that process.
